Transformers / Transformation -- ?

The other day when I watched Transformers (film), a series of thoughts flooded my mind. The very idea of bringing the machinery to life in order to build an army - gave me this thought --

Almost all of us know something called TRAFFIC – oh yes, it is terrific if you have to experience it everyday. And that red signal is an enemy for most of us. It makes all our vehicles to stand in queue and wait for it to turn green. Till then it is fine, it’s all according to traffic rules and law…but what if we are stuck in a traffic-jam? I actually don’t understand the reason behind these traffic-jams but what bother me a lot is the happenings during that stint.

-       When caught in traffic-jam, everybody strives to find a way out. Then why almost all of us “honk”? If every vehicle from behind starts honking, the one in the front can find a way out? Or if you start honking, superman comes from nowhere and lifts your vehicle and saves you from that place? Is that what people except to happen? Or is it fun to irritate others and BTW what about the sound pollution?

-       Your vehicle is fixed in between many other vehicles and then suddenly you will notice people spitting on the road. “Spitting” on roads is not always done by illiterates but many literates do that. But why? Can anyone do that inside their house? I don’t think so, if your place is so holy, why not public places which belong to all of us?

-       Also, I have noticed many times that people smoke in cars, sometimes on bike too. Of course, it’s their personal interest but how can someone throw those cigarette stub (still lit) on the road? What if it drops on someone, god forbid, if anything happens? On the other note, is that a road or a dustbin?

-       Then comes the part of our very well known “signal-beggars”. If signal-breaking is considered as an offence, then what is signal-begging? Not all them we see are really physically or mentally ill. Though fact is known, we still give them money to get out of the embarrassment or some really have “kind heart” to donate. But by giving what they want is like encouraging them to continue the same? May be like a profession? I have seen that as a business in news and so many movies… may be in reality also, situation is the same.

I am not blaming or finding fault with the society, because I know I belong to the same society. And yes, there are people; there are organizations who volunteer to work on these issues. But how can a society so deep-rooted change in a day? As well, I have no idea how long it might take. Are we humans not capable of building a better society?

I get scared sometimes; I don’t want to see a day where our vehicles, when in traffic, get into life and fight with us like shown in the movie? What if the “road” gets into life and destroys us for not keeping her clean? The cigarette stubs, the water bottles, the pieces of paper, wrappers, all that we throw on the road get a life and abuse us? Its hard to imagine…but what if?

Do we need to fight with the “Transformers” or what we really need is “Transformation”?

Scoliodentosaurophobia

“Scoliodentosaurophobia” – does this mean anything? … Well, actually it means lizard-o-phobia. (I don’t know this word before, Google chacha helped me ;) )

It was 8:30 pm, time to prepare supper. As usual I was walking towards the kitchen. The moment I stepped in, OMG…I have closely encountered the creepiest reptile ever, LIZARD (No offense, you might be the beautiful one in your species).

The very sight of this crawly creature made me numb for a moment. Only instruction my brain can afford is to “RUN AWAY”. But, how far I got to run? Then again my poor brain had to instruct me, though suffering from acute fear. It said, run till you find a place where you can feel safe, may be something at a height from ground…at home where can you go? I quickly found a sofa, went running and sat on it.

My husband was looking at me, what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-her expression on his face. Then again I inquired my brain…did you forget to tell me to shout at top of my voice? (Generally, we see girls shouting when they are in fear, mostly in movies ;) ) May be I am an exception, my brain made this decision, don’t blame me :P

Then somehow I managed to tell my husband – “balli” (lizard in Telugu…when in fear, only mother tongue takes priority ;) )  My husband – my savior went to send that lovely lizard to her (or his, I have no idea) home. May be that poor one missed the way and entered my kitchen. My husband is such a brave man, he looked like warrior for me who fought against other species and won the battle, successfully sent it to some place with which I hope not to have any close encounters again.

After a successful war, my husband started an argument with his own species ;) he repeatedly asked me – why are you so scared, it’s just another creature. It will not come and eat you away. Blah blah blah… But has he got any idea what goes in my mind? Lizard look like some fire dragon, may be a dinosaur sometimes for me. May be it could become bigger in a moment and throw fire or something on me…or what if it attempts to swallow me? OMG :(

I still remember when I was in my teens (not that I am old now ;) don’t get into suppositions, I am 25 ;) ) I had a similar incident, worse than this one. A lizard crawled over me, might be due to my attractive dress  but that incident refrained me from entering into kitchen for a month or so. But now, it’s not possible, because I have to cook for my husband. May be the thought that I would not go to kitchen for a long time made him to become a warrior…else he would have given me a chance to skip cooking at least last night…no luck ;)

Catch: Most of us have these kinds of phobias, so when in danger, run away from that place, look for a savior. You can even yell, so that your neighbors come to rescue you. But make sure you don’t kill the reptile. Just leave them in the right place. “LIVE and LET LIVE”.
