The Awkward Situation

As everyday, I am waiting for the office bus… Unfortunately, it didn’t ply today and I happened to take up the public transport (city bus). I am waiting for a bus which should have place for me to sit. It’s a one and half hours journey from home to office and standing would be a tough job for me.

After 10mins, got a bus, I stepped in eagerly looking for a place to sit. I have spotted one window seat beside an uncle ji in white-n-white dress. He is so big (I mean fat ;-)); I just went and sat silently in the remaining little place. He gave me a very weird look; I didn’t understand what his problem was. Just curious to know the meaning of his look, I checked if something is wrong with my looks – dress, bag, in fact sandals… everything is perfect. Then checked my surroundings and read a note that the seat is for “PC (Physically Challenged) and senior citizens”.

Then I realized some more people are also staring at me but I don’t want to get up and stand. I thought, "That’s okay…. I can sit until some one turns up”. But, every time there is a stop, I am wishing that no “PC and senior citizens” please….Fortunately, bus is full with all young girls and some young aunties, and one of them is standing next to our seat. I don’t know what her intention is ;-) but she started talking to the uncle ji beside me, inquiring him where he gets down and all…. May be she wants to sit too...I guess. Just half an hour more and I will reach. Then started the so called “awkward situation”...

A bus stop again and this time a “senior citizen” stepped in the bus. I was so disappointed with the thought that I should stand now. Since, the bus is rush, it took a minute for her to come till my seat. I thought of getting up and offer my (no actually her) seat. Everybody around me is giving angry looks to me and pity looks to that oldie. But for me she looked quite healthy (may be she didn’t find time to dye her hair) .In the very moment, (you remember I was telling about one lady who is standing next to us) the young lady started conversation with this old lady too. She was telling the old lady showing me that “This is your seat, you ask her (that’s me) to get up and you sit”. I was listening to them and annoyed with the way the young lady is behaving.

To my surprise, the old lady replied that she will be getting down in the next stop and it is okay to stand for a couple of minutes. May be she don’t like to be called as a “senior citizen” ;-). Now, I am in a dilemma, to really offer her my place or is it okay for me to sit. In the meanwhile, there are two college girls who are sitting behind me offered her a place. I don’t know why many college girls want to get “this-girl-is-very-good-and-kind” impression.

The old lady got a place to sit, she is happy. She started praising those girls, they are happy. I am still sitting, I am so happy. I just turned back and gave a thank you smile to that old lady. The only disturbed people are the uncle ji beside me and the young lady who is standing… They gave me “this-girl-don’t-have-manners” and “this-girl-don’t-know-how-to-respect-elders” looks…!! Awkward situation, I didn’t understand how to react, I just kept quiet.

Catch: My principle is simple, I don't want to do anything that troubles the other person and just ignore the rest of the crowd. I am not put on earth to please everybody….If someone is not happy with me, it’s absolutely their problem :D: D

P.S: Critics, Comments and Compliments are mandatory..!!

Prologue: Absolutely nothing abt friendship and love!!

The day I thought I will write a blog, I told to some of my friends about this. The immediate reaction from one of them is like this – “so obviously, the blog is all about friendship, relationship and love. And sure it will be like a fairy tale”. Then I started thinking what exactly I am going to write and started questioning myself, should I write something about “Robotics”or something about “Aliens and space”,or about the new zodiac sign“Ophiuchus”, or“Politics”, “Share Market”,“Sports”…I am completely confused and in fact scared about the level of preparation and study required to write something on all the above mentioned topics…of course not all...at least one ;-) Then, I finally decided, it would be wise to fulfill my friend’s expectations than to prove them wrong :P :P… so finally here I am..(after a long procrastination)!!
